About 20 minutes ago. I'm still shaky. damn I always wondered how I would react in such a situation.
Two 18ish y.o. thugs pulled into the driveway in front of me as I was walking down the sidewalk and jumped out. One said "Give me all your money" and I thought I heard him, but was also thinking, is this a joke, is this really happening? He repeated himself and I think I muttered "for real?" and his friend then asked "do you want to get shot homie?". I reached in my pocket and pulled out about $12. I had 6 or so $20's in my other pocket but I handed them the 12 and they jumped in the car and sped down a dead end alley. It was right in front of my house, so they saw where I live. I went inside and could hear the loud buzz muffler go down the alley then realize is was a dead end and come back.
I'm too paranoid to call the police for fear that they will retaliate knowing where I live.
It could have been worse, I'm going to consider myself lucky and leave it be. After all, I still have my iphone, my wallet w all my credit/debit cards and $120 in my other pocket. And I didnt get choked out or my face smashed in. Though my heart still feels like its going to come out of my chest and my hands are a bit shaky.
Anyhow, I dont want to tell anyone I know, cause I dont want to hear about how I should move and make them worry etc. So here I am telling you, the interneb. fuck! how lame are some people? I really cant comprehend the idea of doing something like that, and they were just kids.- Aug 7, 08, 10:49 p.m. – Permalink

Thank god you're ok. Sorry to hear about your $12, though. Take some Tylenol PM tonight or you'll never sleep.

like I said, they know where I live and I'm too afraid of retaliation. it was $12. they split real quick, and I'm counting my blessings I'm unharmed and it wasn't too much to lose.
I poured a big drink and talking to my brother.

Easy for us to say but you should have a good think about this. You really should report these thugs...if everyone did that, we'd be overrun!

One lesson here is to run behind someone else's house. Preferably across the street. That was a standard rule where I grew up but its hard to think of that in a situation like that.

Look man, good thing nothing real bad happened. Chalk this up as a win and just really watch your back. I'm not saying live your life in fear and paranoia, but do be careful and keep your eyes open, especially coming and going from your residence. And do file a police report; they're not going to know it was you. I doubt you're the only one they robbed tonight, especially after they counted out that $12…

Report it. That's probably what they are expecting anyway. If they weren't they'd be taking their sweet ass time getting off your lawn, and would say something like "we know where you live".
