So about a year ago I got really hooked on Tetris... (Quinn for OS X, actually...) and I played it probably for around 6-8 hours a day religiously for an entire week. I would wake up around 4am to play for a half hour just to stay sharp or something. During (and a little after this time) reality started getting really dreamy and distorted. Everything started fitting like tetris pieces, it was real strange. Every object in sight had to be organized to fit and whenever I walked it was on carefully planned paths to weave through an imaginary crowd. I had Riiiiight/JamalJenkins/JesseJens… revelations with everything I saw and did, and it was really fucking weird because I felt just like a machine processing everything I sensed. Every time I wanted to draw, everything would end up being evenly spaced block forms or else I'd get a headache. Even when I ate, I had to read the nutrition info to bring all of the parts to odd ratios. Just wondering if anyone else has done this or what, it's got to be the most innocent thing I've ever done to have such an extreme effect. I try not to bring on the weird here, but someone else I know was talking about it last week and was relieved that someone else had the same thing :P
P.S. Don't try it if you're afraid of migraines.

well ismith, i don't know if i've ever had as quite a hallucinatory experience as you, but whenever i get into Tetris for an extended period of time i see the game playing itself over and over for all eternity whenever i close my eyes. Perfect pieces keep coming and i keep organizing em.. mad combos. I can't stop. I basically have to quit playing it for like a month for it to stop. weird. Also happens when i play too much GoldenEye too (favorite. game. ever.). I'll just keep squeezing off RPC head shots in my mind till i finally fall asleep. Sweet dream.s

It came for free on my girlfriend's new Nokia, it has a battery life of about an hour now...

haha, BrokenAC - a few years back, I knew I was playing too much Unreal '04 when, on walking down the street and noticing a helicopter or plane fly overhead, I'd feel the physical shiver of reaction go though my body to switch to AVRiL (homing rocket), track it, then fire - all within half a second. I mean, there was an actual physical impulse - I could feel my neck loosen to focus upward, the message go down my spinal column to change weapon - everything. Quite strange.
Also, years ago, when I used to pop home and nip around in my old wee Ford Ka, during the period I was playing quite a lot of Mario Kart, I got quite annoyed that I couldn't bump the car around corners at high speed - if I recall correctly, I might have even (once or twice) physically tried to shunt the damn vehicle - even though it's half a ton or so, and not made of pixels! :)
God knows what this all implies for our descendants, who may well be half-brought up in virtual worlds...

When I was at uni doing my final project I worked till really late on my Mac nearly every night. I smoked alot and sometimes did all nighters.
I started to believe I could undo things (apple +Z) all the time... evern when I had a car crash (minor one) for a split second I thought I could multiple undo this....
Then that T-shirt appeared on threadless, my life was complete...

i got the same sensation way back when i played Tetris on the original Gameboy, and also a little when i played Tetris World a couple years ago for the PS2
But i need to tell you how video games may have saved my life:
Around when it came out, i played GTA San Andreas every night for 2-4 hours, like until 2am.
One day i, my wife and two kids were driving home to see my wife's parents. All of the sudden, this dumb bitch starts pulling out of a store parking lot about 30-40 ft in front of me. Almost without thinking i swerved around her, narrowly avoiding an accident. i hadn't even realized i had done it until it was already done. It wasn't until a few hours later that the reason for such quick reflexes were the timed driving missions where you have to zoom around the city at break-neck speeds without crashing. Thank you GTA!!!
