If youre broke, bring canned food...
Im kidding. But unless someone else is picking up the food tab, or place to stay, look at spending at least some 45 bucks a day.
If you wanna see art, stick to the galleries, Chelsea mainly. Ask them for a guide book (free) and just walk.. Easily kill a few hours there.

1) Spray paint subway trains particularly the 5 Line. 2) Makeout with the naked cowboy in Times Square. 3) Base jump off the Empire State building. 4) Swim down the East river during low tide. 5) Search the entire for the CashCab.

1) Spray paint subway trains particularly the 6 Line. 2) Ask the naked cowboy in Times Square how his lawsuit against M&M:s went. 3) Freebase cocaine next the Empire State building in bumbling homage to Richard Pryor. 4) KIll NJ party girl and throw her body into the East river during low tide. 5) Get in and out of every cab you can asking if they are indeed the CashCab.
- ..ah, and climb the NY Times building. Seems like the in thing these days.TheBlueOne

why are you coming to nyc if you got no cash?
nyc isnt for the cheap or lack of funds kind of city,
yes there is so much to offer in terms of anything to do,
but you need cash, getting from point a to b, yes walk all
you like but what is it that you are going to accomplish here?just trying to help figure out your plan of action while you are here.
- if she/he is coming here they have to have a small bit o' cash. or do it on the credit card.tasty

1. go to the Excellent Dumpling House in chinatown. it's excellent. and cheap.
2. the roof of the met museum. the admission fee is suggested, which few people realize, so you can give them a quarter and they will ask no questions and let you in. great view of the skyline all around you. cheap.
3. staten island ferry is free and also provides a great view of the city.
4. that's all i can think of at the moment.
