Call Apple. They know a lot about iMacs.

wtf - i am ready to buy one in august

I've been using 2 new iMacs... one from back in November that's my own, and a new one for the job I have, and haven't had a problem with either... so I wouldn't say it's typical, but problems are bound to occur sometimes. Apple will replace it if it's crap, since you just bought it...

maybe bad ram issues... @ 4gbs means you upgraded, did you purchase name-brand/ quality sticks?
i've got a new 30" 3ghz, running smooth like butta. its a refurb too, for the record.

i asked the seller to upgrade it. dont know, but for sure i will ask.
im a bit pissed off of macs, becuase i had to sold my last imac, white one, because its freezed time to time.. common problem, but they said they fixed it in the new one and its like that. bah
- make sure your ram is good quality. and too bad you had the seller upgrade as i'm sure they didn't give you the original 2x1gb sticks that came in the machine.horton
- .. original 2x1gb sticks that came in the machine. changing ram in an imac is childsplay, don't let anyone charge you for the service.horton

oh hang on.... you're mostly talking CS3 crashes?
forget the RAM, that's just Adobe shit.

Don't use Firefox, its barely a Mac app with its horrible fake tacked together interface and terrible performance.
Also its either CS3 (fucking Adobe) or bad ram, I got some of that from Apple.

This is a Photoshop error, nothing to do with the iMac, could be a font issue, do you use Suitcase? if so turn it off and try again. When exactly do you get the program error? i.e. what are you doing when it happens?, have you deleted the Photoshop preferences?

Do you get this with all CS3 products or just with photoshop? I am not on a Mac but remembering my frustrating days with CS2 on a Mac I had to re-install photoshop and illustrator numerous times as it gave me more or less the same errors worth re-install photoshop again.
Also do you have something that could cause a conflict with CS3? Have you tried to use photoshop without having other applications running?
