i have a macbook pro thats fairly new (february 08) with all the latest updates
im not sure when this issue popped up because a few wks back I was still able to read off these discsmy problem is the following
when i insert a dvd+r (which as i said used to work fine) it continues to try to read it and eventually ejects itaudio cds work fine
cd+r works fine
regular dvds (movies) work fineanybody ever heard of this?
and/or know of possible solutions?- Jul 26, 08, 8:34 p.m. – Permalink

Anytime i've had trouble reading DVD+R discs (which is almost all the time), i've put it i a stand-alone duplicator and duped it onto a DVD-R. i'm guessing you don't have that equipment
Did you make the DVD+R on your machine? Did someone give these to you to open?

I had that problem once with a powerbook, it was a bad drive. if you have applecare take it in and get it swapped out.

you know i cant recall, but the problem does come up every now and again, its weird, but then everything works out ok. i would get it replaced, but the warranty is doneeesoooo.

If the warranty is done, get yourself a little screwdriver and a replacement drive and swap it out.
