with indexr on the front page today I've got an oldie but a goodie.
it's a php file that indexes folders on your webhosting.

you can turn autoindex on/off for specific directories by adding -Indexes to http.conf and adding +Indexes to an .htaccess file in whatever dirs you want indexed.
as for thumbs, out of the box sadly it doesn't. that's kind of a tricky one though. any directory of modest size will cripple your server thumbnailing tons of images on the fly, so then you get into caching thumbs and making directories writable on your server. kind of sketchy stuff for random scripts downloaded from dubious sources
