even BETTER:

Got cut off. : Sane Six, I didn't say he ripped of the font, where did you get that from? I said notice how he jacked the colors/style from YWFT's example images of how to use the product. You do not consider that rip / lazy effort?

the similarity between the following jpegs is undeniably immense
I would call rip instantly until I found out that its an actual royalty free font, so then would you call someone who uses black helvetica on white paper a ripper as it has been done millions of times?
tricky, I like the work at 1-up though
- PS - i thought this peice was really lovely but finding out its just a font takes away about 95% of my appreciationset

I guess you could compare it in some classic scenario like helvetica on black, but I would have to say, I doubt this font has been used that many times and if so in this same scenario as YWFT's showing?

Kenny: I was about to make a comparison to the use of Helvetica myself. Since this font is custom it stands out much more and maybe easier to see the similiarities with the YWFT. No one would call it it rip if it was set up in Helvetica Neue Bold with tight kerning.
The record cover for The Disciplines is also a font from Travis (IAmMintCondition), called Seaweed. I've have never taken any credits for these two hand-set fonts.

Everyone seems to be assuming I am saying you ripped the font, I have yet to say that, right? How can you rip the font, if you bought from some place selling it for you to use, you guys missing the point and making up false barriers. I am simply saying, isn't it strange, out of all the color options in the world, you used almost the same exact ones that someone at ywft did. I have no problems with the ywft usage, thats great or whatever and yes the work looks great. But if this work was black and on a white background, I think it WOULD for sure grant it less of a rip status. The font is very cool, and yes very powerful on its own, but your image almost looks like an image from the YWFT website, right? I think your work is great, but this particular project, it looks like you got too inspired from the actual showing on ywft, and did not execute further. I mean, you guys can keep using some silly helvetica comparison, but in reality it just doesn't apply here, its being in overly defensive really.
Jeremyhead: I think using their stock is great, I buy from them sometimes when in a crunch, why not its mega cheap and way nicer than the garbage on istockphoto. But I don't follow their ways of how to use the product this exact. For one thing it wouldn't work for most my boring clients.
