set the menu's z-index to like 50 or something?

Are you using SIFR to display the text that overlaps?

This was on the SOSF page: "Also remember that because we're floating things, the content underneath the dropdowns also needs to be cleared (clear: left)."
That's for Opera - but maybe FF3 is picking this up in its new rendering engine too?

if you are able to - put the menus at the bottom of the code. It will naturally index toward the top that way.
Of course, that only works with absolute positioning.
