the twins seem to be the only "honorable" sports organization here in minnesota and even that is a stretch. honor and sports in the same breath borders on the oxymoronic.

My Dad caught a ball at a Minnesota Twins home game in 1976. He was there on business with 3M. I still have that ball.

favre was getting pressure from the organization to retire, the packers had had enough and wanted to move on with their young quarterback and take the next 2-3 years to rebuild the team with younger players. They gave Favre two choices, retire or be the special QB coach to the young guy, never starting and maybe never playing. So he said fuck that and retired. Then he wanted to come back and play another year and was asking the Packers to release him so he could play for another team. What's the big deal here? Personally I think he should never play again just because as a sports fan, I think he should retire as a Packer. He IS the Packers.
To call him a selfish cunt is just someone trying to be an asshole who really doesn't know any better.
- <--- too many wordscbass99
- I hear ya. He should retire a packer.
... fudge packer that is.
joking, i meant the first thing I said.******** - ...I said.********

The NFL is better with Favre in it.

hey people love sports, and more so if they play them , my pops still plays futbol for a city team in Juarez he is 58. It's in their blood! So what if Farve wants to comeback and play , more so , so what if he wants to come back and play for the 49ers who have a potential bust in Smith and could use a guy like Farve for a year or two!
Fo the love of the game

Lions like Favre die hard...sad, because if they actually do manage to end careers gracefully it only increases their cred in my eyes..but sadly the Greatest always go out hard and ugly - witness Jordan, Ali, etc...
- barry sanders walked away rather quickly and he was greatmjg
- so did smith (running back) from the vikings.cbass99
- ...and look at Sanders now. Doing commercials for 'Just for Men' hair dye.IRNlun6
- I think that's Emmitt Smith in the Hair dye commercials and not B.Sanders.Complexfruit
- Jordan's two years in Wash are forgettable, and I don't even think about them...smrz
- ...to be honest, I didn't even remember that he came out of retirement. I think Favre will have more of an impact than MJ did coming backsmrz

If Farve wants to come back then I think he's fucking earned the right to change his mind. He brought that organization to the NFC Championship last year, just before my Giants slapped the shit outta Greenbay. But Farve is a great QB and he shouldn't have been giving the redheaded stepchild treatment.

Hahaha. Packers offered Favre $20M to stay retired.
It's like he blackmailed them.
- stoplying0
Sadly, the Jets could use him though.
- what did you know? were you working this deal behind the scenes?threadpost

I love Favre. Great player and he's done a lot for the game. He is the essential working-man's quarterback. He was never the best athlete but somehow he managed to get to the top.
HOWEVER, if he didn't want to retire, he shouldn't have. He's now dipping his hand in the kool-aid jar way to late. It's his fault.
(I do think he still has the itch to play though, and it's not about the money.)
- mtgentry0
He retired then changed his mind and the packers were thrilled. But then he changed his mind again and wanted to stay retired. Now he wants to come back AGAIN? He brought all this shit on himself.

psh, wtf? the jets? they will never make it out of their division and very little chance of a wild card. why in the hell would he do that?
Obviously this guy isnt in the game to win, he just wants to get paid. If he wanted another superbowl title, he would have stayed in the weaker NFC and the 13-3 packers vs the 4-12 jets? come on! what a d-bag, just in it for the dough.- they went to the playoffs 2 years ago. I predict they do pretty well with Favre. That's a decent team there.smrz
