From Techcrunch:
Recreational Provigil user testimonials are all over the web. Not only are people able to work with little or no sleep, the drug has the advantage of spurring weight loss and some users report a general mood enhancing side effect. The U.S. military has also reportedly tested it on helicopter and F117 pilots to see if they remain effective for up to 88 hours without sleep. It sounds like it is drug of choice in Ad agencies.

I use this stuff to get moving or if I have a rough workout ahead..
Started taking it before 5k's and it improved my (slow) time quite a bit...

testimonial:
Just took this today, great experience. My friend has a psychiatrist who prescribed it because of his sleep issues (he feels the need to nap 3-4 hours at 7pm) I took one at 9:00am and 30-40 minutes later I felt something that can only be described as Vrooom! Ever had one of those days where you randomly get ultra productive? The days where you go from cleaning a shelf in the garage to the whole garage? Exactly the same feeling, except this lasts a lot longer and there's very little feeling of mental exhaustion. I put in an extra 2 hours of work and felt I still had more in me so I went home and wrote a looming review for work . I actually did two reviews, so now I'm a week or so ahead of where I should be. My fingers FLEW! I almost felt I couldn't control them and they were just going as my brain thought. Overall writing depth of vocabulary increased, although my verbal depth decreased somewhat while I was feeling this productivity. I started to wind down until after dinner I got a second wind and I think I'll finally write some of those thank-you's I've been meaning to send out for a couple months now. Where do the possibilities end?
