Ha, that always happens to me, you find a name, make a logo and hate the name once you finish!
Looks good, prefer the first one, shows off the company name more.

just do what skt suggested it's better than anything else you've done.
Maybe think about how the design would work on a clothing label since that's your main application.
It could be that the label is wonky and the type fits in that space.I read that the LU biscuit logo was designed to fit onto the width of = the packaging, hence it's massive ascender height
