    Do you guys charge sales tax? I'm in Texas. Do I have to fill out paperwork in order to do this?

    Sales tax is only for goods, not services. You do have to pay income tax, set aside 30% and you will be fine.

    • k, but iknow at my last job they charged our clients sales tax and so does my mechanic?redant1/3
      You don't charge tax on services, but you could on items - print,etc.formed2/3

    The amount to require paying taxes on freelance, is far from obscene. Last I heard it was in the $600 range.

    i dunno about other places but in CT...
    intarwebs = no sales tax
    print = must charge

    the argument boils down to physical vs intellectual property more or less. so in short, F print and F taxes
