Does anyone have (or know where I can get) a design template for a record? I know that's a tall order, but I thought I'd ask.
- Dr_Rand0
usually the specific vendor will provide one

Hi,
There is no standard template. Different labels, and different production companies have different requirements. You will need to talk to whoever is going to produce the record and they will supply you with some pdf templates for the various packaging formats available and the various onbody options.

places like diskmasters have templates on their sites, but these would work only if you had them print it

If you want to download a sort of default one, try mooching through Tribal's website...
Most of the time the pdfs you have to refer to are appallingly bad and unhelpful.

It's a square....
Are you kidding?

vinyl or cd?
- Vinyl. I need the sleeve and the circular label for the album itself. I just need some dimensions.mjbauer

"No vendor, it's for a personal project"
Well, if you're hand producing sleeves for yourself then refer to what Moth said... ie: its a square. Make it a bit bigger than the record but not so big the record falls out, decide where you want it to open (top is best for hand mades). Include glue flaps, depth score the folds first and just use your common sense.
Google will give you plenty of templates to follow if you prefer soemthign tow ork to.

aye, I'd be looking for easy templates for the design stuff if I was hand pressing vinyl and wasn't sure what size before I started either.
