Bottled water is bullshit 4949 Responses

You're right, the water here doesn't compare to that in Scotland (my Gran lives in the shadow of the Campsies, and the water is lovely) or Northumberland, but It's eminently doable if you get a filter.
Besides, buying bottled water in a first world country is one of the most asinine, ignorant things to do these days.

I've never drank bottled water simply because its supposed to taste good, be better for you or whatever they try and sell you. Its just a plain pain in the ass to have yet another thing to carry around with you everywhere when you're out in a city and have a long way to travel back. The last thing I want is 3 bottles of water in my bag to last the day.

The water in Ottawa is fine. I use tap. Half of my family is into bottled water, and they weren't like this before, which leads me to believe that they started listening to all the new stories and other people. Toronto, on the other hand, is a place where many people do not drink from the tap. Filter is prevalent. I also hate carrying all that stuff around.

In most countries today, tap water contains fluoride. It is supposed to be good for your teeth, but it isn't.
It also kills the "good bacteria" that live in your digestive tract, being one of the big factors behind the rise of bowel cancer in 20th century.

Dasani water contains salt (it's right on the label), which actually makes you thirstier
