That's pretty cool, on the other hand, I guess there's no way to directly link to the text as with regular webpages.

This is a huge step though

things to be aware:
1. Your flash won't be indexed if you use SWFobject or other javascript - generated flash object.
2. text generated dynamically ( xml, flash remoting, or from database) will not be indexed.
3. Your intros with flying text will be indexed.

I'm assuming that doesn't include the JS-generated Flash that is created by default with the newer version of Flash when you publish

what i read is that the SE's have a "special" player that allows a search engine to step through the app reading all dyn content

Adobe’s VP of marketing for its platform business, explains:
We are releasing technology to Google and Yahoo that enables them to crawl and index SWF files. They are now searchable. This will open up millions of Flash files to search.

4. If you load swf files with content into main.swf, they will be treated separately. You will get direct links to your swf ( missing navigation or the rest of the site)
as far, as I can tell this is not a huge step.

Fair enough and was almost time.
BUT modern approaches make the indexing not a problem.
If you have a pretty well done xml parser, all you have to do is
use the index.html as your xml document, and read in flash, and you'll get an excellent indexing.
