What should the Rangers be expecting from Redden? He may not be the physical force we need but looks like he'll help our PP. Staal may benefit the most just by playing alongside him.

Also, Hossa agreed to follow the rule that no one can make more than their captain, Lidstrom.

Doesn't Tampa need a better defense? Weird.

I want things to happen more quickly. Preferably before I leave for Canada Day festivities.

Rumours:
"OTTAWA -- If talk turns to action, Bryan Murray could be on the verge of making his biggest move as the GM of the Senators.
A hot rumour in NHL circles has him discussing a three-way blockbuster with the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings, Sun Media has learned.
While draft picks and other players might also be involved, the principles appear to be a group of five or six that include a couple of veteran goalies and some of the game's most promising stars.
QUITE THE SCENARIO
According to insiders, Ottawa would trade netminder Martin Gerber and defenceman Andrej Meszaros to Los Angeles, the Kings move 20-year-old centre Anze Kopitar to Chicago and the Blackhawks would propel puck stopper Nikolai Khabibulin and either of young blueliners Brent Seabrook or Cam Barker to the Senators.
On the surface, it seems the deal could be a rare win-win-win.
The Senators appear to be at something of a contract impasse with Meszaros, a restricted free agent with three seasons of NHL experience who is said to be looking for a salary in the $3.5 million range.
The 22-year-old Czech was the team's seventh leading scorer last season and, should he be re-signed, stands as their top puck moving defenceman. But Meszaros' play has also slipped since his standout rookie season and many view him as Murray's primary piece of trade bait.
DON'T WANT TO LOSE GOALIE
Gerber, who is entering the last of a three-year deal that will pay him $3.7 million in 2008-09, has had his ups and downs as a Senator.
Moving him now before losing him next July as an unrestricted free agent would be Murray's desire, but only if he could get a No. 1 goalie back in return."

I'm so happy!

I can't believe some of the goalies got that much money to play. Like Theodore and Huet, for example. And Commodore's offer is the biggest surprise to me so far. He doesn't
Murray said that he signed Auld because he's eager to play more, and he will add something they need to the locker room. Vague, but I can see how more responsible and mature players are needed.
- *he doesn't seem like he deserves a five-year deal worth $18.75 million. A team change is nice, but that's a lot of $...Jaline

the league is back, well on its way to 2003, when salaries were sky-rocketing and a strike close by. Spend baby, spend!

So I haven't played NHL for a video game since like NHL 95, and I have to say NHL 09 is pretty suite. Enough that I think I'm going to buy it on Tuesday.
That being said.
Someone start the "Official NHL 2008-09" thread. I have enough sport related threads in my repertoire. We have like a little over a month.
- Done. I thought you had news about Sundin at first :PJaline

I think Tampa's move was to clear some cap space. Also with Stamkos coming, they are kind of in a rebuilding mode, thus getting a decent young defenseman in Matt Carle and a future first round pick (wich should be pretty high for Tampa) that they can also use to pick up a great D prospect.

I like what MTL has done so far. Kostityn signed 3 years - 3.25$/year is EXCELLENT considering Jeff Carter got 5m$/year. The habs are still in the race for Sundin too.

How the hell did the Sens not get a decent defenseman? Oh wellzzz
I was hoping for Streit or someone like that. We need more puck-moving guys.
