I don't watch a lot of tennis but I have been hooked for the last 3 hours.
Andy Murray has played the most professional and inspiring game of tennis I have ever seen. Even tennis haters would of had a smile on their face.
Well done Scotland.

I thought this was a appreciation thread about that awesome singer :(

was brilliant, i put a bet on him when he lost the first set (40 quid) but then it got worse and the french guy was serving for the match... but he turned it around (and i won £120) sweet!

To be honest I thought the guy didn't have it in him. The Gasquet dude is gonna be quite a fine player though.
- gasquet has been on the circuit a lot longer even though they're the same agemimeartist

Was great to watch, he can act like a dick sometimes but at least he has the talent to back it up.
Let's just call him British.

That was a great game. So much more entertaining than Henman...
- mimeartist0
henman is not too bad as a commentator... better than linekar when he started... so i think he might be alright...

I always thought John McEnroe was always talking the piss outta him.

so, is murray british then?
- Erm, yeah.Raniator
- I think so?Raniator
- figured. see, henman was english, murray is scottish. got to love the london based media.skt
- Well, more British than Rusedski ever was :)Raniator
- sorry, henman was english, murray is british.skt
- unless he's slagging off the english football team. then he receives hate mail, and is scottish again.kelpie

Yeah I don't really follow tennis, but I must admit, I cheered a few of Murray's points last night, it's nice to see someone who doesn't know he is beat, I mean two sets down and the game lying on a tie break, I'd have probably give in mentally! that programme after it was pretty good too!

"Tiger Tim"... I've never heard such a poorly attributed nickname. Whenever he won a point, his reaction was that of receiving a pair of socks for christmas.

It's nice that something talented has come out of the North of England.
You should all be very proud...

He has grown up a fair bit; he's had to as every time he said anything he got jumped on, compared to wonderful grandma's favourite henman, then given all the same pressure to succeed regardless. All the time no one even mentioning how much his attitude is a totally vital ingredient of why he's a good competitor.
The most important thing with him is that, unlike 90% of UK sportsmen, he's got no issues with his self belief and has no problem saying he thinks he ought to win cos he's fucking great at tennis. A lot of people don't like that here.

he nearly wasnt playing in wimbledon this year.
his manager is his mum, she was on the news a few weeks ago saying he wasnt going to be playing and it cut to a shot of him looking like he was in a huff and arsing about with his mobile phone.you can have as many millions and tennis biatches as you like, but its still your mum that lays down the rules lol.
(aint that right hedge?)

My British comment was tongue in cheek.
I hate that fuck from GMTV, he goes' it'll never be Murray mountain or Murray's Mound...it will only ever be Henman hill' you know he's only saying that 'cause he's fucking Scottish. If it was a young English guy he would want to cream all over his face. What the fuck do they know anyway, they were all pish at tennis.
