Anyone ever put together a document for a discover session with a client?
We're set to hold one and I'm in charge of asking the "creative" themed questions.
Such as:
What is your overarching brand strategy?
What extensions of the current campaign exist? And so on....
What are some other key questions I should be asking?
Other than - When's lunch?

I would think 'overarching brand strategy' would be a bit foreign to them...

back in the day I had someone who would go in and do a brand discovery for me, and so I had a full sheet of questions they ask that really helped me. sorry to be of no help really!

Take a while to learn their particular language for how they describe their company and paraphrase things like 'overarching brand strategy' so you don't come across as foreign to them. Even if you have conflict about specifics the fact that you will be someone in the industry that understands them will be of far more use to your long-term relationship with them than getting everything you want out of a first meeting.

Agreed miko and that's our intent. To get personal. The "overarching brand strategy" question was just an example of the overused brand speak.
I'd like to tailor those terms to fit their brand. Just trying to get started.

ask them if they dream in color or black and white.
Then ask them if they've ever seen a picture of their wife/husband/gay lover naked. and when they say "no" you say "oh, wanna see some?"
hahahahaha.
sorry. I have nothing worthwhile to add to this.
