Wanted to let you sports fans know about a site my friends and I just put together. We call it Project Franchise, and our goal is to purchase a professional sports team and have it run by the fans. We initially launched a sign up site which I believe was posted here. We're on to phase 2 and we now have a fully functional site!
We literally just launched and have been testing our forums, but we need some real sports fans to clog up our boards! I know QBN isn't a huge sports lovers paradise, so when you're done clicking on links to design love, head to www.projectfranchise.org and take a look around. Sign up to stay informed and PLEASE contribute to our forums! The whole idea behind our project doesn't work if it's not user generated. So go for it! Start any topic you want. Sign up and pass the word along!
Here's a direct link to the forum but you can easily find it at www.projectfranchise.org - forums: http://www.projectfranchise.org/…

Yeah, we're not claiming the idea is ours. MyFootballClub has done a great job selling ownership off of their team, but our model is more about running the team and being a real life GM. Not owning a piece of the club and watching someone else run it. Our goal is to give power to the people, as much as we possibly can, be it in the form of picking starting lineups, hot dog condiments or the teams logo and unis.
Any more questions, check the site or ask away. I'm happy to answer.

Cool, thanks man. No harm no foul. Sign up so you can be apart of this. Our idea won't work without fan support and without making it a total fan community, run by you guys. Seriously, post any topics you want, invite friends, whatever. Just be involved so we can actually gauge whether our idea is crazy or not!
