thinking of getting a greyhound.
anyone here have one or have experience with one?

From where to where? I used to take them all the time between Edmonton and Calgary and i hated them... they were pretty cramped and full of scummers. It might be a different situation elsewhere though.

haha way off, i thought you were talking buses. didn't clue in to that picture at all. Those dogs are rad looking, never met one in real life.

no I am not buying a bus.

if you decide to get one, please adopt an ex-racer. they're usually well-trained, not very old and you'll save them from an unfair death. they make really wonderful, loyal pets.

my friend has an italian greyhound, i guess they're smaller than average? he's adorable, but man does he have a lot of energy! like, a lot. i mean, it is on full speed or sleeping, no in between. a little too much energy for me.
- ran into one of those on the beach last summer--very cuteDr_Rand

I love them. My friend has had Italian greyhouds for years. She's hooked.

My uncle in Phoenix adopted a racer. It has scars on it's body from the other dogs nails in races. His is pretty old and mellow but in general they need a lot of exercise obviously.

i dont like them but then again I dont even like grapefruit juice alone.

We've got 2. They're great pets. Don't need much exercise at all and are content to sleep about 20 hours a day so they're also fine if you are at work all day because they just sleep.
They're very friendly and the pet food (in UK) is cheaper because it's tax free because they're considered working dogs so they don't cost much to keep.
Not to mention you'd be rescuing one from a shocking life on the track.
