Quick opinions: Which is your (preferably free, or cheap) Content Management System of choice? I've messed around with several and I'm not sure which ends up being the easiest to work with, is the most flexible, and most suitable for a client.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Ohh forgot Modx, just fantastic!! You just create any template you want and then you just create the dB components and drop them into your template.

I would stay away from joomla. To robust and confusing system. I have installed it on 3 projects hoping that clients could take control of their sites but it didn't work.
- ive used it for clients and its a headache! clients didnt understand it so i'd always have to update it, so whats the point!FallowDeer
- Exactly. I just have to update and I would rather just code it in my editor.falcadia

i've been experimenting with cmsmadesimple.org and i find it quite easy to use. i don't have next to nothing when it comes to programming cms but i was able to set one up to update a flash website.
- i meant i have next to nothing experiencedijitaq

i made a template so that the output is in xml format.
it's my first time using an open source cms and i must say i'm quite happy with it. though i must admit, using a custom cms would have been more elegant, especially function wise.
- that is pretty nice. care to share your template?cramdesign

for small gigs i usually like to roll my own little cms. using php object generator makes quick work of the database abstraction layer, and it's easy to throw something on the front that spits out xml for a flash site..

Depending on the size of the project your doing but right now im working with Expression Engine and Silverstripe. Both are great, so it comes down to the size of the site your developing.

Wordpress is pretty versatile depending on the complexity of the information your wanting to manage.
