Can you think of anything that belongs to other countries, but have in a sense been hijacked and become part of British culture...

Lambretta/Vespa: Italian, but because of it's place in UK popular culture (Mods) it can be seen as a kind of symbol of British-nessThe Balti: A Pakistani food, associated with England (Birmingham etc)
