what to know in actionscript?

Hello fellas-
What is expected from a designer to know as far as actionscript in Flash is concerned - Besides what you would use for animation such as "global functions", "timeline control".
If a company is asking that you know actionscript- do they expect you to know how to write PHP as part of the actionscript? or just shortcuts for movieclip control, etc?.
Hope this question is not too confusing...

I would talk to them in the meeting and tell them the level you know, I know many many programs but in interviews I say sure I can do aftereffects but your not going to get star wars out of me, this raises a smile and reassures them that I am confident but not cocky or promise what I cannot deliver.
Normally an employer would write 'Indepth knowledge of actionscript' if they wanted...... indepth knowledge but don't worry too much and make sure you find out the level they require Good Luck.

just give them a quick summary of what u can do in AS
end of the day your a designer and theres only so much programming they will expect you to know
