Some family used to live there... not the kind of government I could stand living under, but as far as the agencies *surprise* I have no idea.

singapore is super clean, the interstates are beautifully landscaped, the cab drivers are polite and are required to speak english. to be honest it's TOO clean for me, everything had it's place. singapore's exchange rate is about 1:1 with the dollar, i think we may have even used the dollar as currency while there, i forget.
10 minutes north and you're in malaysia, whose economy isn't nearly as strong as singapore.

It is very clean, but they have VERY strict laws...

Oh ffs - it's not China in the Cultural Revolution!
Singapore is a beautiful city. Friendly people, very affordable, and some of the BEST food in the world. Easy access to the rest of Asia too. You could do a lot worse than landing an agency gig in singers.
There are a ton of the 'big boys' out there - Tequila, Ogilvy, Grey etc.. but also some smaller shops too. I know there are a couple of SG peeps on here so I will bump this...

Well, I work for an interactive agency here (Singapore, of course), albeit a very small one. I guess it's fine here. I've been living here all my life, so.. I think an outsider's point of view would be better. But like jevad mentioned, if there's anything I love about this place, is its food. Or the variety of it, at least.
