"Taking a break from adding new features, Snow Leopard — scheduled to ship in about a year — builds on Leopard’s enormous innovations by delivering a new generation of core software technologies that will streamline Mac OS X, enhance its performance, and set new standards for quality. Snow Leopard dramatically reduces the footprint of Mac OS X. . ."

I wish that Adobe would take the same approach. The beta for the new Dreamweaver is a gig... a gig for a text editor?! Just make it fast.
Apple has the right idea, for $129 I will get a faster mac? I'm in.
- Pony up, use textmate.brains
- i would but it doesn't produce clean code.cramdesign
- what? it produces clean code if you write clean code. Also, if you think dreamweaver produces clean code, you're daft.brains

This is a brilliant move. This will put them so far ahead of the competition if they aren't already. Focussing on stability, speed and better tools for developers will really set them up for several years.
And I agree Adobe needs to do this as well. Especially with Flash. They made the long needed overhaul to the Player with AS3, now focus on the IDE, it's a broken mess.
- a consistent UI across all the apps would be nice also.johndiggity
