I showed this to a client: http://www.atlasmindcreative.com…
because they too have a globe in their logo. Now they want a site very similar to this! This looks quite complicated for me. How hard do you think it would be to make a site like this, my programming knowledge is limited, timeline skills ok.

Your link brings up a blank page...so I 'd say...not hard at all.
- acescence0
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.atlasmindcreative.co... because it can’t find the server “www.atlasmindcreative.com”.
- PonyBoy0
you mean this: http://www.atlasmind.com/
?

hehe
- hiimerik0
um. this looks like you might want to hire someone who knows AS 3. Especially since you just said your programming knowledge is limited.
- hiimerik0
I meant wrote.
- redant0
yep now i have to create something like this. Impossible unless I tear all my hair out?
- ukit0
AS3 not necessary, but it would clearly be a dynamic site. So, yeah, I would say fairly difficult if you don't have the AS knowledge.
- PonyBoy0
so hard to answer a question this 'wide open'...
... what part of the site do you want to replicate?... are you talking about certain effects... are you talking about the navigation... etc etc?
It wouldn't be hard... it'd be a logical time-consuming process though.
- designbot0
Shouldn't be very complicated. Not sure what they used for the intro, but intro animations are lame anyway.
- redant0
but i looks appears simple

If you're comfortable in Flash this site would be a great excuse to get you up to the next level. Stronger AS skills would make it easier, but this might be the incentive you need to hone those skills.
Dive right in. You'll be fine.
- Yea i want to but im afraid ill age more through all the stress but i wanna thats what i wanna hearredant

I guess that if you don't have any AS skills it might take you up to 2 months... the biggest issue would be the database.
How are you thinking of storing all the data? XML? SQL Database?Moving stuff around wouldn't take you long to learn, just get a copy of tweener lite and you'll be fine.
- redant0
maybe i can figure out an in between way
- clearThoughts0
You should definitely consider how you will update the site in the future - otherwise you might find yourself putting loads of hours just to update the site.
- bulletfactory0
also use swfaddress for deep linking in your flash
- yea i saw that that seemd cool helps with browser back button functionaliteeredant
