  lol canon got some naming issues again..

  Why is their 1000 models just totally out of the scheme.

  Like their Powershots... the SD1000 is not as good as the 850etc or whatever. Now we have a 1000D, that's not as good as the 450D and similar to the 350D.

  Just like switch from D30 to 30D

  not a camera expert but it looks like all the stuff all ready out there. release a camera now with 10 megapixels. eh. should been 12 at least.

  Well, once you start getting 12MP+ with APS-C sensors you run the risk of lower image quality.

  too late for the cellphone cameras and most P&S, and some entry dSLR's, cramming hella MP's to smaller and smaller sensors.

  • +1 past 10mp seems kindv pointless unless they can make the photo cells smaller– sikma1/6

    hmm...so its better to stay in the 8 to 10 megapixel range? in this case.– akrokdesign2/6

  would the 400d be recommended over this 1000D?
  going to dip my toes in photography and have been told the xti is good starting point from both technicality and price, and the 450d might be a little rich for what might be a hobby

  Photography is about light, a 1000D with studio lights and some expertise takes better photos than a 1Ds shooting inside the average house or office...
