  Just played my first "game" last night since 7th grade. It was a scrimmage with another co-ed team in my league to prep us for the real games to come. Even though we lost 7 - 3 or so (I blame not having our real goalkeeper there) it was still the most fun I've had playing a sport in a very long time (golf can get too stressful).

  Anyone else in a soccer league? Do you play a particular position? Any tips?

  I play 11 a side on saturdays and 5 a side on thursdays. Without playing football, I'd be a very miserable young man. I play right back/right wing and I kick ass.

  I have to wear ankle braces and a knee brace due to injuries when I was younger and I left that gear back in Canada. But yeah, I could make excuses all day, I'm just lazy now..

  In my peak I was playing competitively 11 a side saturday and sunday (two dif teams) and 5 a side thursdays. Miss those days but just don't have the time anymore.

  I've played since middle school for school and other teams. I was playing 3 to 4 times a week including 1 indoor league on thursday and 1 league on sundays and it is the best anti-stress there is. Unfortunately, I moved to a different city and haven't played much... but damn it I miss it!

  I try to play when I can, but unfortunately, this city seems to get a kick out of stripping the nets and chaining the goalframes to trees when they're not in use for weekends leagues. I'm not impressed.

  i played up to provincial and national level here in canada. my provincial coach is now the assistant coach for the canadian national team. i played again for a bit a few years ago for a mens league and it was good times.

  i joined a league last summer, 7 on 7. first time i'd played in over 10 years but it was a blast. still trying to get a team together here in LA. i never thought it'd be this tough to get a soccer game together in california. it seems everywhere you look there are "no soccer" signs.
