Hi everyone,
Ive been asked to produce a 'heritage wall' for a school, to display things like head boy and girl, who has won school colours, who has won a special acheivement award etc and these will be updated every year...
Obviously I have gone down the road of a digital presentation of some sort using a CMS but they would like to see some ideas for a physical printed version.
My problem is the wall is 4 metres wide by 2 metres tall and so after a few years the wall would be full and the older content would have to be removed to make room for the new. So I guess what Im asking is for links/ideas on cool ingenious ideas for ways to show this kind of content and be able to update it easily and for the space to be maximised. One idea would be suspended wires with printed boards attached for example...
Any thoughts?

Bump!

what about some kind of system that shows the last say 5 years, all slats or plastic/metal/wood that are engraved with names.
they slide into position and are locked somehow.
when new ones are added to the top then old ones come off the bottom?

yeah thats what im after, but i need something visual to show them as they are not the easiest people to explain ideas too!
anyone done anything similar to this or now someone who has?
Kinda modular display systems i guess

these are all great, i guess the crux of it is trying to find a way of incorporating a lot of info into a small space. would be cool to get some interaction in there too, you know like how you turn round a postcard rack, or flick through the posters in HMV?

One last bump before i put a mood board together!

what about hospital signage?
worth looking at. that is usually designed to change all the time.
they have plastic strips with the names of departments they slide into holders on the walls and stack together too.

yeah good call, thats the kind of thing im thinking of but obviously a lot nicer. To be honest im hoping theyll go with the interactive idea and have a touch screen with a cms driven flash cause thats where the moneys at, but i gotta at last give them the option!
