i'll see if i can find the name of the place I stayed at in montmartre. I defenitly like that area of the city (it's where amelie takes place) & everything is a quick subway ride away.
- though, overall I found Paris hotels to be a little too small for my taste.OnesandZeros
- Being American didn't you find most buildings in Europe a little small for your taste?JerseyRaindog
- yes and no. buildings like the louvre - no. most restaurants and hotels - yes.OnesandZeros

yeah I'm booking somewhere for my folks so I need something 3/4starish, not too many tubes away from life.

i've used it several times and their hotels are always the best.
- best isn't cheapcapsize
- that site looks like a generic domain name landing pageOnesandZeros
- i don't think 120/night is that expensive--if you check out the hotels they're not generic.

There's one right next to the Panthéon that I stayed at pretty cheap not too long ago, either Hôtel du Panthéon or Hôtel des Grands Hommes, I can't remember.

It had great meals in the little basement bar/restaurant too.

Here's where I stayed (in 1998): http://www.france-hotel-guide.co…
I don't think it was too much, but my girlfriend at the time was a travel agent, so she might have gotten us a deal. It was a nice place, overall.

What's that site where you can stay in someone's house/apartment for free if you just take care of their pets and plants? had interactive map and pics. Looked like a good idea.
