I've got an old mac powerbook G4 running OSX version 10.2. It's only got 500Mb ram and a speed of about 667hz - will it upgrade to the new OSX and is it worth doing so or should I just leave it to die?

better leave it

leave it. if you upgrade he will get very slow. I have a Emac 800 with 1 gb ram at home with 10.4.11 and I'm thinking to reinstall 10.3. My main issue is how browsers are painfully slow

Do not upgrade. I did last month and machine overheated and blow up. Buy a new machine

OK - I have a new machine I just felt like tidying everything up and running it all on the same OS.
I'll leave it to run presentations or something!!
Cheers

I have a PB G4 867 with 1GiG'o'RAM
Running OSX.4.1OS runs fine it's CS2 with InD, Illy and PS open at the same time that slows it down
Up ya ram and I reckon it will fine

I used to have a PB G4 800, 512 meg of ram running 10.4 and it wasn't bad at all for Photoshop/Illustrator. The powerbooks are much faster than eMacs, big L3 caches and other stuff.
Forget flash though thats pretty shit on anything below a G5 because its so badly programmed.
