  My advice to anyone with (any kind of) a dog: Train them to come to you on command, and take them hiking every day. Dogs need to get out and do dog stuff (run, smell new things, "hunt," etc.) daily, or you end up with behavior issues. If you can't do this, especially if you live in a city, you're doing the dog a disservice.

  It's a lot of fun getting out with your dog every day. Healthy too.
