Yes, TED is great! When i discovered it for the first time i've spent like 2 days straight watching all the different talks. It's really inspirational and pushes you to explore yourself further, opens boundaries. I really liked Phillipe Starck's "presentation". But it's also great to listen to people from industries you have no idea about and realize it's the whole different dimension.

ya. me too. have watched several of those vids there.
There's some smart and passionate people there.
I'd make a fool out of myself if I were to speak there. I'd probably talk for like 30 seconds on a zit and then leave with the weirdest silence.

Yes, I also agree that TED would make for a great creative TV channel. However, my money is that TED will never create a TV channel for the following reasons:
TED is an elitist annual event that panders only to whom TED considers worthy enough to attend. Their annual conference cost over $6,000 USD to attend and is by invite only. Which means, if anyone here on QBN had the cash to spare they would not be attending or invited to attend the annual design conference without a documented invitation. Sorta like the FFFFOUND invites, but on a much higher level.

It would be grrreat to have a design channel. If TED makes it to cable, QBN would be the craziest reality show!!!
- To many introverts on here to make that happen.tparsons
- I'm actually introverted. Wouldn't go on.Jaline
- Or I wouldn't say anything, but you'd frequently see a "wtf" look on my face.Jaline
- See... And who would watch hours upon hours of geeked out male designers...tparsons
- there are enough characters on here to make it interestingmorilla
- and not your typical stereotype of what a "male designer" is.morilla
- No, it would definitely be interesting. Just saying what I would do. Who knows. Maybe I'd get into it eventually.Jaline
- But most things turn pervy after a short while, hahah. Still would be interesting, I guess.Jaline
- morilla... would be interesting to see that list of who you're talking about. Would love to see what they're up to.tparsons
- It's rare that I see something on here of very much interest.tparsons
- I'd present a tv show were the need to arisemikotondria3
- morilla0
yeah, that would be a great channel.
I have been really getting into this one, they have some great stuff.
- organic_grid0
We should get "HEDGE" to buy everyone here at QBN an annual membership to TED since he so wealthy.
- crayz0
ill be talking at the next one about the importance of socks in developing country's ...
- crew or tube?morilla
- developing country's what ?mikotondria3
- OSFA0
seriously now, why is it that there is no shows or channels about graphic design or related subjects? I've seen interior designers, chefs, stylists, fashion designers, marketing pigs, musicians and more on tv. Why not us?
Hmmmm, sounds like a good summer project for QBN.....QBNTV!
- Let's pitch Bravo, I have been thinking the same thing for years now...organic_grid
- I had thought about it also, it would be great to have something good on TV.OSFA
- i'm willing to guess it would have fail written all over it. but i'd watch it anyway.airey

They have a free application in the iTunes store, which I downloaded, but you need the internet connected.
I prefer the HD video podcasts. Very nice!

I'm happy with the high registration cost - I'm able to watch all the principal content, for free, on the internet. Frankly, clever as I think I am - I'd have nothing useful to add to their conferences, so I'm glad they've selected me out.
In a similar vein to TED, Fora.tv - http://fora.tv/
