i work for a real estate company. they have an intranet all the agents use and they want to look into svg for things like logos and such... not sure why, but that's the buzzword of the day. and they all want on the bandwagon... and i'm the one who gets to research. huzzah!

Ah, well you can just export them from Illustrator, you know? When you mentioned XML I got slightly frightened and thought you might be doing something clever and far beyond me, like so much of what I see on the internet these days.
I fear the future, see?

haha no... i have no working knowledge of anything XML related, except for XHTML and that barely counts. apparently they have a pdf generator built for the agenst to use so they can build their own print materials from templates and so on... apparently it can't handle eps formats so now they want to look in to SVG... i have no idea what the are doing or how it will be implemented. i'm simply in charge of researching it...

Also, check out Microsoft's .WMF format, which can be used to incorporate scalable vector graphics in their typical software - Word and Powerpoint, etc.
I've never used the damn things personally, but I've sent them out to a couple of clients, and they seem to work ok.
