Just updated my website, its not built properly but its up there!

colours = ok
structure = needs work/ spacing seems pretty inconsistent and awkward, to the point of the text not really matching up with the images... maybe try using more horizontal space, so projects that have multiple images, put them beside each other rather than stacked
type = too many different sizes going on, try using 2 sizes at the most, create hierarchy with spacing not type sizeoverall, seems like a good start but needs more polishing and thought...

Ok, just my opinion, but I think some of your work is lovely. The site is a little simple, but thats ok, I wouldn't be keen on where the text is positioned in relation to the pictures. When you have a lot of text (the various projects at the start) the text is a little confusing, I'd have them drop from the top of the picture, not the half-way point.
The pics I think are a little small, they don't allow you to see a lot of the projects, are you going to have a click through to more images, because this may help.
I'd also put a little more space between the images to help differentiate between them and to give them a more room to breathe. Other than that, I like the muted colour palatte and typeface used, so good start.

I would line up the type on the left with the top of each project, instead of from the bottom of the first image up, just makes them sit a bit strangely at the moment. I think the colours look good. Would try to get the font crisper, it fuzzes out a bit too much.

Cool. Thanks for the comments, they are good points.
I'll re-align the text to the top of the images, add more space between them and sort the type sizes.Thank you for your kind, constructive words.

no worries matblack, we see a lot crap round these parts, it's just nice to have a crit thread where one actually knows where to begin giving feedback/help...

If you mean you updated the CONTENT of your website... I think your work is clean and acceptable. Nothing fast, nothing slow, rather moving efficiently with traffic.
Seek university, medical and government work. Good luck.
- Any tips for going about this? Work in those sectors would be great!matblack

"I've noticed that font Fuzz problem with some of my sites....how do you actually fix it? "
in this case its photoshop's rubbish anti aliasing for text, most likely the font isn't designed for screen use exactly. Playing with the aliasing setting might help a bit but its pretty unavoidable in my experience. If you're using flash you might get the same stuff, its got quite crappy aliasing too.
Browser font smoothing works a totally different way (take a screen grab of smoothed html text in a browser, zoom in and look at the pretty colours, compared to the mush of PS), one reason I'd only use graphics/swiffer text for headings and a websafe font for any copy.
ps. I like the site mat, but agree with the above copy, though I think if the text isn't quite lined up to the top but slightly off you'll keep the nice off centre thing your looking for without producing the same confusion. :)

nice work - clean site. make the fixes that the gentlefolk have mentioned above and it will be schweet.

Because of your name, I can't help feeling like the site background color should be the black (not gray).

I struggled with that too, but I wanted the logo mark to be black.
On my stationery it's black foil and works really well with the grey.I now even have my own special mixed ink at the printers for the grey!
