Whoa, did he die of age? He was getting up there. Still producing great work, last I heard. A true icon of American art. One of my all-time favorites.

Not on display, unfortunately, is Rauschenberg's amphibian performance piece Spring Training, in which 30 turtles crawl about a stage with flashlights strapped to their backs.
