A little more than a month in and been doing great. Realized this week that an odd twitch I'd had in my right side neck for several months has gone away. Not sure if it was nerves or a blood vein issue, but it was really annoying.
I'm much more calm now, and feel like it would take far more to make me mad than when drinking caffeine. I'm happy I have it up, and luckily I've found some great decaf from Metropolis Coffee.
- It was just stress, knotted up in your neck and shoulders.
You know life's not the same - come on, come back to us...mikotondria3 - I feel threatened by you giving it up, that's all - if you're happy with it, I'm fully on your board.mikotondria3

sometimes I love the crazy tense feeling too much strong coffee gives. Sometimes it just makes me sick. Either way the crash afterwards is bad!

Did you ever see the Drake and Josh show, where they have a coffee drinking contest? Drake and Josh each drink like twenty cups from Starbucks (but Drake's are caffeine-free). Josh is so funny when he's so stoked.
I know about Drake and Josh since I have a six year old daughter...
- I am also passingly familiar.
It's the laughter track that gets me though. It's not *that* funny.mikotondria3

I don't drink coffee or tea. I'm tired at times though...
- tea is good for you._eh_
- you should drink coffee.MrOneHundred
- yeah...but I don't like it.Jaline
- either of them. I hate the taste of alcohol too. Some ppl think this is bad...but I'm actually quite fine with it.Jaline
- Know what though...I bet if I had any of the aforementioned drinks I would be nuts for a while. So crazy.Jaline
- Maybe that’s why you don’t like the taste. I have a feeling I would be nuts on drugs.MrOneHundred

I was woken up, one hour earlier, with a phone call from one of my works.
They need me now!But i'm going on vacation tomorrow and I have plans for today, so I told no and went to make a coffee.
Now that the coffee is ready, for half hour almost, I'm not gonna drink it because I received a stressful email from my boss at my regular job.
Damn it!

no such thing as too much coffee...

have a double shot of espresso... it'll straighten you out for about 15 minutes

I once worked 19 hours straight to make a deadline... I drank nothing but coffee every half hour or so... worse feeling of my life. Actually it was worse when the client chose a campaign I did in 5 minutes...

skip the coffee, just crush no-doz in your redbull and swig on that shit.

So I'm six days into giving up coffee and caffeine. I did this for two years solid a few years ago. I'm already back to enjoying how much better I feel as a person without it in my system. I actually feel more energetic when I wake up. Have not noticed that I fall asleep faster year; I think that comes a bit later.
But lately, I have a little anxiety being out of work and looking for a new job, and I could get really stressed out about it if I wanted to. I think it just makes me too edgy, I don't feel like a nice person sometimes and I feel too quick to snap at people. Feel so much more calm just letting natural things like fruit, veggies, mint tea, and decaf green tea do the job. Not to mention a good smoothie, maca powder, and an Emergen-C packet.
I LOVE coffee so much, but once you move away from it you find out you kind of love not having the affects of it far more.
- i do this, though still have 2-3 cups a week. Just becuase it's so yum and we have a killer machine here.inteliboy

Pig - I dont' know if I ever felt those symptoms, but for a few months now I've had a kind of oddly throbbing vein in the right side of my neck. I can't tell if it's nerves or just a blood vessel that's twitching, but your post made me think to kind of see if it goes down. I need to talk to my doctor about it - I've read enough stuff that made me a little fearful of the heart kind of improperly pushing blood out. I did just have a physical a couple months ago and everything was fine on that. It's just more annoying than anything.
The not drinking coffee is really going well. I feel like I'm focusing better, kind of staying on task better.

I gave up for 12 months, was ok but find if I have a good coffee before I head out on a ride, I get going faster, could be psychosomatic though.
