Take a normal picture, from high and above and er, crop it.

You have three main options:
1. Stand further back
2. Buy a wider lens
3. Take multiple pictures which overlap slightly and stitch them together in Photoshop

or get an xpan... thinking of selling mine:

take pictures that overlap 30-50% with the previous/next one then Photoshop > File > Automate > Photomerge then crop.

Take a bunch of photos of the scene you want a panaramic of, overlapping slightly at the same exposure and aperture level then...
In Photoshop CS3:
File>Automate>PhotomergeUse automatic, this usually works fine, if photoshop messes up, try using interactive layout.
(the 350D doesn't have this funtion built in, its something generally found in some better point and shoot cameras)

hands down the best software on the market for stitching images together is http://www.ptgui.com/

for seamless results you will want to use a "pan head"
http://www.nodalninja.com/ - shitty website. excellent product.

photoshop will work good if your using a pan head. if your not using a pan head often you will see "mirroring" were the seams will be visible
- I'd disagree, as long as you use manual exposure with photomerge, resaults are usually very good. Possibly better with the pan head but I've never tried.kalkal

pretty easy man -- just take the 3-4 shots needed for that sort of shot
keeping your camera rotated on the same positionthen use the masterful Autostitch to process them -- works amazingly.

If possible always shoot manual settings, most important is manual white balance for digital.
