The backlit thing will be stupid expensive, as you'd have to actually scour away matter, something which current typical laser etching doesn't really do. Assuming you're talking about a metal laptop, of course. Even if it were plastic, it'd be quite a risky, non-standard manoeuvre.
If you can forgo the backlit aspect, there are plenty of laser etching services out there - have a dig around your yellow pages, or just search online.
