I need to create an argument that Ajax can be as rich as Flash, can you post the richest apps you've seen in Ajax. Doesn't matter what they are... Many thanks... James

so how do you code Ajax? Is there a program that will help me build a site?
- seanhaus0
It's a OOP toolset to help designers/developers deliver boring info in a non-boring way.
That Gucci site is a cluster fuck. I will dig up some links for you.

Ajax is Javascript + XML HTTP Request, right?
But a lot of times people use it refer to any JS effect

AJAX = Broke Man's version of Flash

The main issue with Ajax vs flash is.. no object scaling, object rotation or audio and integrated video. Well you can do all these, but not as cleanly as in Flash nor as easily.

'scuse my ignorance as i'm no authority on either, but wouldn't flash be more rich.... i mean you can certainly write ajax code inside a flash file can you not?
- ukit0
Flash would always be richer, the power of AJAX is the ability to provide real-time updates. As for using JS animations over Flash, there's no real reason for it in the context of a large site IMO. The animation is always choppier, it taxes the browser more and as others have said no video or audio. However, there is a certain appeal from a design perspective because it's "different" from a Flash site and there's a certain novelty value to it.

This really simplifies life with ajax, JSON stuff is built in too.
