My new baby came today, it was made in 1987 (a year before it went on sale) and is one of the first production runs. Ebony fretboard, Honduras Mahogany body, custom non-locking Edge Pro bridge, etc etc. Picked it up for $725 and it's sounds awesome. Just snapped these pics very quick to show some friends + band mates so I didn't bother uploading HQ or setting up any good shots. Anyway, if you have any remote interest in guitar then bask in its glory...

Where did you find it? It reminds me a little of my early 90's Charvel.

Very nice! Is that a Floyd Rose or Kahler whammy? I remember they came stock, but I can’t remember which brand.
- Ibanez Edge Pro, custom for this model with all non-locking parts.ismith

A million years of google searching, a MySpace friend request, and a bunch of states over (Louisiana). I like Charvels, considered getting a DeMartini model and routing it for a YJM in the neck. Too much to buy one new though atm...

who cares... guitars *yawn*

May I suggest, if you are buying old guitars, don’t EVER drill or route the body. It basically kills any re-sale value.
- I only care about playability- I considered scalloping this guitar but it plays well enough flat.ismith
- haha. I guess that’s an argument we shouldn’t get into then!MrOneHundred
- Probably not ;) I make good money scalloping though, do it to a lot of collector's guitars.ismith
- * whinces
(sorry!)MrOneHundred - Haha, well we all have our differences.ismith
- hehe. We do indeed.MrOneHundred
- What's with all these youngins and they're Yngwie fetishes? I outgrew mine...TheBlueOne
- Vinnie scalloped a couple of his guitars too man...ismith

God. Wasn't that the Vinnie Moore model? I had a 1986 RG550 that I fucking just gave away to some kid back in the late 90's. Literally - said "Here kid, take this..." You couldn't even sell a fucking Ibanez after Nirvana hit. Now it's like all these 18 year olds want ibanez's - I'm fucking kicking myself....I saw the same guitar I gave away in a shop last week for $1800.
- everything that goes around comes around.MrOneHundred
- So you got something to give me?TheBlueOne
- Yep, I'd kill to get the splatter model VM-1. Grunge really wore out the shred scene...ismith

I'm sorry. But that's a really boring looking guitar, from a really fallow period in guitar history.
Good luck with it!

- I have to say I don't like basswood one bit, but they are some sharp guitars.ismith
- See, I do like basswood for the most part...TheBlueOne
- I bought that guitar the same day I met my wife, and both came from Nagoya, Japan. :)TheBlueOne
