I am animating text in flash. However the text is generated from an xml file. The animation looks fine, with ease etc. but the problem is that the text vibrates slightly the whole time its moving. Its like its bouncing from one pixel to the other. I had this problem with pixel fonts before. I remember finding the solution. It had something to do with the fonts having to be on the exact pixel.
Is there a way to script this animation to tell the text how to animate. Thanks so much for your help

I mean dynamic text....sorry....

Like I had a scrolling dynamic text box on my old website and I found a way to make the pixel font not blur when I scrolled the text. I am not working with a pixel font this time but since the font is dynamic it is still the same problem....
I hope I have explained this correctly....any help we help me go to bed for the night!
Cheers

Perhaps changing the anti-aliasing options >'anti-alias for animation' or 'anti-alias for readability' see if either changes things...
cheers.

yep... i bet you've got it set at 'anti-alias for readilbility'

I tried changing the anti aliasing option but no luck
Basically the solution is to script the animation to tell the next not to stop on a half pixel. Its like getting your pixel fonts to be sharp, you have to put them on a whole pixel. I had this problem a few years ago and I found the script to solve it. However my old HD is down so i cant pull the script. My actionscripter doesnt know his arse from his elbow plus he isnt even in the office yet so id like to solve this problem before he gets here!Anyone know what I am talking about!?
Thanks in advance,Ev

next = text (on the first line of my previous post)

are you writing the tween code yourself or using a tween class? use math.round to put it on whole pixels.

well the actionscript guy in the studio is writing the code...ill suggest this to him..
Thanks very much...

sometimes when I type too fast I type "Inout" instead of "input" and that always makes me chuckle.

cheers for that flashbender....

AntiAlias for Animation will do sub pixel rendering meaning it will deal with the clip sitting between two pixel values well, meaning smooth animation, but doesnt look as good standing still.
AA for Readability cant do this hence the jumpiness, it will only stop on whole pixels but looks better when static. If you tell the clip to only stop on whole pixel numbers (which AA 4 Readability does anyway), you wont get as smoother animation.
Im not sure why its jumpy on both settings for you though, you definitely using embedded fonts?
