How is it done?
Is it expensive?
Are you in the UK?
If so
can you do it?

Hey thanks spooky that's perfect. Do you know him?
Is he in London? The only issue is that his is stop frame animation. I kinda assumed the Nokia stuff was a real video with jiggery-pokery messed in to make it look like sketches...

Hey sorry for just whacking that url in but I was actually on the phone to my brother in law asking for that url and then we got chatting.
I do know him but not well. He works with my bro-in-law and does the animation on the side. Him and his girlfriend/wife do animation.
He works in Brighton and lives close by but not sure where. Top bloke though, really massively enthusiastic (in the best way), helpful, knowledgeable, reliable etc.
Worth having a chat with him. If you can't get hold of him via his url details let me know and I'll give him a nudge.

I don't know the answer for sure but he can do all sorts. A lot of what looks like stop-motion animation on his site was actually created in Painter. I would imagine he can work effects over footage in that way.

Hi
You could do something like that a number of ways. One slightly less labour intensive way may be to use 3d with a sketch and toon render. If you want it to look slick though it is going to cost, no matter what. I could do it but it'd be a proper job of work.
