anyone know of an equivalent site that I can use (for free) that doesn't require me having to learn Ruby and/or writing CSS until I am dead?

bigcartel.com is similar but you can't edit the html, only the css so you're stuck with fewer layout options.

so,
you want an ecommerce solution for a website that is free, but you do not want to work with any CSS, or Ruby to accomplish this? what is not to make someone laugh about that?
- have you searched sourceforge.net for another platform module?
- are you delivering this for a client whereby you have agreed to develop the cart to meet their custom needs?
- are you open to an installed solution, or must it be hosted-solution only?as a forum that is comprised of an overwhelming number of web-based professionals, asking for something free, that is done, and i do not have to customize yet the client will accept seems like the sort of attitude that undermines the very skill set they are paying you for, IMO- hence the chuckle.
if this is all for not my best apology. if you are though looking for just a solution that is 'easiest' i will maintain my position. fair enough?

Thank-you Madirish... The site is for my girlfriend, say no more. I appreciate that my initial comment may have spawned reason for a good laugh, but Shopify, whilst a great tool, is a pain in the fucking arse to modify if you cannot use Ruby. CSS is one thing, but if someone could create a tool that allowed you to modify the layout slightly easier and change colours and add bkg images that would make my going home and telling her it ain't quite ready a whole lot easier.
I take it the answer to my question is no, but thank-you for helping me realise that I am a lazy c**t.

There is a market theme for wordpress, but it's $55...not too bad.

Ruby's quite easy. You could figure it out across this upcoming weekend.

Kult, I take your point on board well, but this weekend, like most, I shall mostly be being climbed upon by my two year old boy who likes to hit my laptop it I so much as look at it - which is a fair thing to do ;-)
