We're after a New Media Designer with Expert knowledge of: Flash 8+, Actionscript 2.0, HTML, CSS, XHTML and XML. Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash video technology, usable design and standards-compliant web sites.
Check us out at www.bigbutton.tv
I just thought I'd post on here as I'm sure a qbn fan would be better than some of the people recruitment send our way :)If you're intrigued drop us an email and I'll send you more details:

Well, I'm in the midlands... thats about all the criteria I meet here...
- flashbender0
very disappointed that there is no big button on your site.
- Corvo0
The guy you're looking for... his name is God.
- Mojo0
You use Avenir! I love you! Hire me! I mean, well I'm not in the midlands (yet), and .. I'm not looking for a job.. hmm. Oh well, +1 for Avenir tho!
- brummyboy0
Haha.. Nice one Mojo!
Well if anyone knows of people who might be swayed to move from their current place of work to come join us please feel free to pass on the details. It would be much appreciated :)
flashbender: our old ident was exactly that... a big shiny button. Not pretty.
Corvo: I was chatting to God the other day or a latté, and he said he wasn't down with the internet, so taking a new media role would be hypocrisy... We're all doomed!!!!
:)

And you want them to live in the Midlands? You are going to need pretty deep pockets for that mate.
- looks like two job roles to me.Leigh
- Just what I was thinking. Do you need a graphic designer in any of that description.roundabout

50K

Lots of companies ask designers to perform developers roles because the latter are much more expensive, and we, naively comply. Both skillsets end up being devalued.

If think 25k is reasonable for midlands - but only for half those tasks.
And whoever you get will only be excellent with a third of them.
- Yes, well saidAnees
- I saw a senior dev from DP asking some very basic XHTML questions teh other day mike...v funnymaximillion_
- on here Max?moth
- nope on another forum targetted at freelancers. it was quite oddmaximillion_

Fair points. It's up to the individual really. It's a great place to work and I know whoever gets the job will love working here to... Oh and no I'm not the boss haha.

We're after a New Media Designer to supply the moon on a stick for clients.
In reality, good luck finding that person mate. I think the actionscript might be the stumbling block in all that, especially when what your offering £ wise is about 5-10k short.

That is true unfortunatly, the money really should be more or the job role should be less if you want 'expert knowledge' expect to pay the wage an 'expert' should command.
On a side note I left my old work place and the boss put up my job and as yet has not been able to employ anyone which I suppose is a good reflection on me as he had put literally millions of things that were expected of the new person, he didn't get many applicants, I told him he expected too much as I had worked with him for years and he shouldn't expect someone to have the same attitude and understanding etc. etc.

true true... Maybe we should amend the description then. Cheers for the comments though guys. We've not really made it clear but if the right person came along, the wage would definitely be up for negotiation.
