I've found the best practice when anyone flips out is to tell them how stupid they look and are. That usually makes them quiet down.
And by quiet them down I mean go even crazier. Make sure you do it in a low voice so that no one else can hear you, sort of like when you'd make fun of your sister or brother at the dinner table so you're mom couldn't here you.

These nerds started playing some kind of game in the kitchen with cards and stuff. My only guess can be Magic The Gathering, or if you can possibly play Dungeons & Dragons with cards.
It almost made me flip out once, but I calmly told the client I was on the phone with that, "Someone gave the nerds their cards or something and I can't hear you over their virgin giggling, I'm going to call you back from a phone room."
I'm not the most calm, but I'm close the calmest person you may know.

These are the heart attacks. Brace yourselves, Planet Earth has many more of these moments for you to endure before this is finally all over and you find yourselves back in the familiar surroundings of the ante-room, blinking, open mouthed and discussing the insane realism you experienced here with others who, like you, can't quite believe how immersive the whole thing was.
Waiting for a file to save. I need a new computer with quad processors and all the trimmings.
sigh.
