on the jazz front, I've been listening to Joey Alexander a lot this year. He was (is) a child prodigy who somehow plays jazz with incredible maturity. If you didn't know, you'd think he was in his 40s or 50s.
He's 18 now and his recent album Warna is great and a great band with him including Larry Grenadier on bass:He also has a tiny desk concert:
