The two members of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo started first a band called Darlin’ with Laurent Brancowitz in 1992. They released some tracks and did a couple of gigs. A negative review in Melody Maker, a former UK music magazine, called there two singles “a daft punky thrash”. After Darlin' disbanded, Thomas and Guy-Manuel began experimenting with drum machines and synthesizers, and began producing tracks under the name... Daft Punk. Brancowitz joined the band that would eventually become Phoenix. Luckily after Darlin’ they all made better music. Decide for yourself if it was really a daft punky trash.
- daft punk sound nothing like phoenix and neither sound like darlin' so i've always loved that the chord progression in this somehow sounds like bothkingsteven
