A few years ago, I accidentally dragged my entire font collection (at the time it was at least 1,000 fonts) into my dock. I was on a G4 PowerBook and It was hell...I could hardly move my mouse and I started dragging each font out one by one but it would take about 2 minutes per font.
Couldn't find any help online. So I finally broke down and called a Mac fixer buddy who had me trash the plist. It worked, but I was miserable for about 2 days.

The plist worked, it resets the dock (at least I think that's how we fixed it). And at the time my dock was on genie effect so every time my mouse moved over the fonts to delete one, the dock would enlarge to show 1000 fonts plus all my other dock apps. I think the beach ball spun every time I clicked a font to remove. Seriously, it was hell. Worse than shitting my pants.

No, at work, but yes to the first part of that sentence. I just accidentally dragged something into the dock and was reminded of the experience.

Okay, I don't cry. But I would be terribly distressed. Like this one time when all the fonts changed on my dad's computer when I was younger. And I thought I was going to die. I felt so bad that I had changed every font somehow and nothing would ever be the same again. I almost cried. After a few hours of me trying to change it and being totally afraid of my dad (who...in retrospect...probably wouldn't have cared or noticed). Eventually I restarted the computer (stupid Windows 95) and everything was fine. It was the biggest relief I had ever had at the time (back when I was learning web designing skillzzz).
