Here's the sit. I have Guitar Hero 2 and 3 for the 360 but I'm getting tired of them. I hear great things about Rock Band, but I don't want a whole set up in my living room. Should I sell my Guitar Heros and pick up Rock Band? Worth it?

you'll probably just get tired of rockband too, right?
just buy some new songs or play a different game... or learn the actual guitar
- Bought a ton of games...just thinking maybe it'd be worth getting Rock Band. They have more songs it looks like.CincodeMayo

Hmm. A very pressing, and important question. I'll discuss with the UN and get back to you once I solve the AIDS crisis in Africa.
- Dude, I've already cured AIDS. That's why I moved on to Guitar Hero. Cancer's next on my list.CincodeMayo
- Be careful, we might unleash a crazy virus that turns the world into zombies. Then only Will Smith can help us.brains
- i'd prefer simon pegg7point34

Sell your GH stuff and get Rock band. Rock band + Xbox live is the bestest.

play call of duty instead
- No way. I suck at those war games. Next on my list is GTAIV. Not a huge gamer, but I like the fun ones.CincodeMayo

I hope they release Spore for the 360.

Has anyone played Rock Band only using a couple instruments, like a guitar and a mic? Or 2 guitars?
- Meeklo0
Rock band is way better because you can play drums.
And you know the rule: Drums will always be better than a guitar. That being said, I rather play skate.

If you decide to sell your GH stuff, I'm interesed in your wireless guitar.....
- I have the GHII guitar so it's wired, but doesn't it work with Rock Band? I thought it did.CincodeMayo

Both can be fun however they can also be the ultimate party killers

dude - do NOT sell your Guitar Hero stuff. If you have the GH3 wireless guitar, it works with Rock Band. I have both, and both are fun for different reasons. You'll miss the difficulty of GH3 if you get rid of it, as most of the songs in Rock Band aren't nearly as hard to play. Rock Band is awesome with other people, even if it's just one other to play bass with, and the songs are a great mix of rock genres, plus you can download great new songs every week. I find myself playing Rock Band more, but only because I've gotten as far as I can get in GH3. I can't beat Lou on the Hard difficulty setting. It's ridiculous.
- and I have a stupid-small living room where I manage to hide the drums and guitars behind a chair in the corner so no problem theresmrz

I'm in the same boat...I've pretty much played the hell outta Guitar Hero. Finished hard and now on to expert, but its starting to bore. Just seems like there are a ton of new songs weekly on Rock Band, plus a lot more options. I have the GH2 wired guitar...would that work with RB?
- I think so, yeah.smrz
- I can confirm that it does!emmaopeel

also - check this link out. If you're in the New York area on Saturday night, maybe fun. Yes, I'm a nerd. Whatever.

I think rockband is well worth it, possibly for the drums alone. it can be hard to recruit a singer, but that is also a great and challenging part of the game.
once (if) you get bored of guitar, play guitar and sing at the same time.

Drums are definitely a good reason.

If for no other reason, Rock Band is awesome because you can get three friends and fake-rock out together. Nothing like a bunch of 30-40 somethings rocking out while pretending to play music. Our band was weekly Sunday night gigs in the "drummer's" basement. Good times.

So the question is...is it worth picking up Rock Band if I'm only going to be using one guitar to start? I'll probably add on a second guitar or mic soon, and although the drums would be cool I don't have the space at the moment. So is it worth it with just a guitar or two?

Back in SF I had a group of guys, we used to jam together alot, all of a sudden they stopped showing up for a few months, so I invited them over for a BBQ and they brought their freakin x-box over, me and my drummer cousin were like "WTF!!"
Silly wabbits.
- "try it, its fun and addictive." "FUCK YOU!" we said.moldero

I'm swaying between GH3 and Rock Band. I'd have nobody to play them with but the wife really (since we're hundreds/thousands of miles from home and friends) but I'd only really try guitar/bass and drums. But $170 for Rock Band is steep entry price. But check this shit! How much fun would this be?
